President Trump condemned white supremacy in an address after two mass shootings. He did not propose major gun-control legislation.

President Trump cited the threat of “racist hate” and called for national unity in devising a response.

But he stopped well short of supporting the kind of broad gun control measures that activists and Democrats have supported for years.
