BREAKING NEWS President Trump escalated his trade war with China, saying the U.S. would impose tariffs on another $300 billion of imports on Sept. 1. Thursday, August 1, 2019 1:51 PM EST Mr. Trump, who had agreed in June not to impose more tariffs while the two sides tried to reach a trade deal, said on Twitter that the new tariffs were in response to China failing to keep its promise to buy more American agricultural products.
